Mouthwatering Rajasthani Desserts you must have!

Rajasthani cuisine has a taste of royal culture and tradition in it. Popular for its spicy cuisine, Rajasthan is also famous for its desserts which are absolutely delicious!

1. Doodhiya Kheench
It is a wheat porridge that is believed to have originated from Udaipur. It is quite similar to rabdi and tastes best when made on a sigdi (angithi) in a degchi (copper utensil). This dessert requires wheat, full cream milk, cardamom powder, saffron, sugar and nuts like almonds or cashew.
2. Dilkushar
It’s a deserted which is also known as Besan ki Chakki or Mohanthal. It is traditionally made with coarsely ground besan. Apart from besan it is made with mawa (khoya), cardamom powder, sugar, milk, almonds and dollops of ghee.
3. Rabri Ghevar
It is a disc-shaped dessert which has toppings that include rabdi, malai, mawa etc. It is made with refined flour, desi ghee, milk, saffron, cardamom powder and sugar.Rabdi is actually a thickened, sweetened milk that is used to spread on the top layer of the ghevar.
4. Balushahi
This dessert is made with maida, sugar, sodium bicarbonate, yogurt and milk. It is first deep fried on low heat and then dipped in a bowl full of sugar syrup.
5. Mawa Kachori
It is a sweet kachori which has filling of Mawa and loads of nuts. The kachori is dipped in sugar syrup and then served. It is made with maida, ghee, khoya, cardamom powder and lots of nuts to fill in.
